Forget the past

As I was doing a research on an upcoming Yathra
I came across a very remarkable quote spoken by Yukteswarji
It caught my attention
and here I am sharing it out - hoping that others can be enlightened too

"Forget the past.
The vanished lives of all men are dark with many shames.
Human conduct is ever unreliable until man is anchored in the Divine.
Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now."

Sri Yukteswar Giri : Yoga Master of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Krsna Janmashtami 2016

Aug 25, 2016 -  the joyous day of celebrating Little Krsna's appearance...
On this very good day itself a lot of good things came by to me
Flourishing...
During the day,the good news of an accomodation confirmation came by from an ashram (upcoming journey),
also got  an unexpected generous gift by a good friend..to replace a damage.how kind & thoughtful of her.
and due to that,it is also the start of a new discovery for me.need to get into learning mode.

The evening of this day,was a little hectic but very productive - with 1 Odissi replacement class & another Odissi dance practice (upcoming show) back-to-back
After refreshing  myself - I head on to Shanta Mandir, to catch up with the Krsna Janmashtami prayer that starts from 10pm up till midnight. Upon reaching the mandir,it was just nice to catch up with the milk abhisegham of Krsna.
And there I came across many cute little Krsnas & even Radha / Gopis ,where the little ones adorned with costumes & adornments ..
they caught many attention - roaming about in their innocence and excitement/wonder
Well how nice,is that...
Also during the prayer, there is a beautiful aradhana - dance offering by the TFA dance students
It is a warm dance of Lord Krsna & with the Gopis (a small snippet below)
It was lovely that the song is so soothing & so loving.
And right at midnight , the prayer came to it's end enveloped with bhajan sung by Swamiji (Aadugindran Ennul Paadugindran Ananda Radhaiyudhan) as well the Manggala Arathi.
In whole,it was truly a blissful experience & wonderful to be hearing Swamiji's loving voice- throughout the mantras, hymn, chants, bhajans.
Krsna becomes the highlight ~ as He looked enigmatic & charming on his birthday - shown in the images,below..
Lets all be drenched in the love of divine devotion.
The thirst shall never be quenched, towards eternity.
Ever flourishing as Karuna Sindhu..the Ocean of Mercy/Compassion..

"Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya"

feeling Humanity

Yesterday , Monday the 8th of August -

as I was walking home after work,  I came across two men whom themselves are strangers to each other.
One of them is a homeless man & another is a foreigner who seemed to look like a man of profession.

I noted them,  I stopped & watched.

The foreigner was kneeling down towards the homeless man (Malaysian) who is seeking shelter under a posh residence, and giving him some stuffs while politely speaking to him.
From his accent - I knew he is an African by his Origin..
and after he is done - he was walking towards my path.

I did not think twice - spontaneously started a conversation
I asked if he helped the homeless man
He said "Yes" and humbly shared on what he have got for the homeless uncle : Mat, thick blanket, toiletries, new shirt, food etc
I was very impressed & greatly inspired
Such generosity - too precious.

heartwarmed.. i requested him to keep up the good job
for being such a selfless soul
and we kept on walking together while we had a little chat
he introduced himself as Matthias & shared that he is from Tanzania
and so did I, in return

and soonafter, we parted our ways.

It was such a good wrapup for the day
to witness such loving kindness.

Thank you Divine Energy

fragile life

have you ever wondered or come across this?
the person that you love , whom you had a wonderful bond with - one day..changes,turns away from you - leaving you...

Heartbreaking.it is.

even worse , when they leave you with no closure.no goodbye.

in this life
one thing for sure, as we all know : nothing is of certain or permanent

the person that you used to know - (may) become a stranger one day
just like nature - ever changing,so is human.
Change is inevitable.
but love never changes.
Only ego,ignorance clouds it.misguiding it

So if you were to ever face any loss.
nothing more can be done, they may or never come back - you can mourn for their loss (for a while) yes - it is okay to cry..
and then, you are just good to go - move on, carry on - gently

Letting go is never easy but you can make it so by just putting in your thoughts & effort
it will come to you.flow with it.

I am still finding my way,though...

Malar - the blooming lotus...

and the lotus is back to the surface
after being drowned - an absence of 3 years (of blogging) - here I am
to bloom & keep blooming

the few rustic years of being away , has been a phase of trials in letting go
after a fall ..it is time to get up, rise & walk
to keep walking...
walk on & move on..

with this  - here is a soulful song of my current favourite with meaningful, lovable lyrics
dedicating to those who are silently going thru the trials & tribulations of moving on ; depression, losing someone dear, in need of a different perspective in life, etc
time to face the reality : loss & change, are inevitable
it is Okay to feel gloomy,in the blues - eventually this too shall pass, as nothing is permanent
so embrace the lovable you (yourself) & have a great life ahead
much love ...

I dont want to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders but it's hard to let go.

I don't want to worry, I dont want this sadness in me.
It is eating me alive.

I know there is nothing I can't lose and make it alright, does that mean that I....
I wish I could tell you about all the things that I feel, but I'm scared - come, and turn me off.
Saw a light in my eyes.

I wish I could carry the weight of the world on my shoulders like you all..
If I..I wish I were stronger,
I wish I was able to love
I kiss you...goodbye

p.s: always love yourself,
you are here for a purpose - find & know that purpose
for someone will always need you, and so do you...

Meditation is Miraculous Medicine

The word “meditation” makes many people think of incense, chanting, the lotus position, monks in robes, and religious traditions like Hinduism or Buddhism. While these associations are not necessarily wrong, meditation in its essence can be practiced by anyone anywhere at any time if they are willing to create the space for it in their lives. You can meditate on a bus on the way to work, in your cubicle, while walking your pets, or while exercising. In its simplest form, meditation is the practice of awareness, and the application of it to your life. Learning from a teacher in an established tradition offers many rewards, and I encourage it, but you can start benefitting from meditation right now!
Regular practice of meditation can improve concentration, motivation and memory - all of which will help prevent life’s various problems from becoming quite so overwhelming, thus contributing to even more overall reduction in stress.

Basic Tips

When you are getting started, I recommend setting aside a space and time for regular meditation. As I said above, meditation can be practiced anywhere, but like any skill it is best developed with practice. Many people find it helpful to meditate twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. You don’t have to sit for hours (or even an hour) to derive benefit from meditation, and devoting such lengths of time to it in the beginning will likely be counterproductive; fifteen minutes per session seems to be a good length of time for many people, but that is not an absolute rule. If you find yourself fidgeting too much or becoming too distracted, you can experiment with shorter lengths of time (such as five minutes per session) and work your way up.
Try not to meditate on a full stomach, but if you are extremely hungry, a small snack may help. It is best to start out wearing loose-fitting, comfortable clothes, and to sit or lay down in a comfortable position. You may have your eyes open or closed, though many people find that with eyes closed they have too much of a tendency to get sleepy. If you are one of these people, open your eyes, and concentrate on a fixed point in your visual field. This point doesn’t have to be anything spiritually or emotionally significant, though if you are by nature religious, you may find it useful to concentrate on a powerful symbol of your spirituality, such as a cross or an image of a saint/deity.
Breathe deeply and regularly. You can inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth, or both inhale and exhale through your nose. Many people find it helpful to use a 4/4 or 4/4/4/4 breathing pattern – that is, spread the in-breath and out-breath over four seconds each, or, for a more complex variation, take a four second inhalation, hold your breath for four seconds, make a four second exhalation, and keep your lungs empty for four seconds before your next inhalation.
Starting at the crown of your head, begin relaxing your musculature, working all the way down your body through your face, your neck, both arms, both hands, your torso and back, your groin, both legs, and both feet, to the tips of your toes. You may find it useful to visualize relaxation entering your body with each inhalation and stress leaving your body with each exhalation. For example, you may want to associate relaxation with the color blue, and stress with the color black, but these are not absolute rules. Feel free to experiment and find what works for you!

Positive Consequences

In addition to relaxation and the indirect consequences of it (such as lowered blood pressure), there are many other benefits to meditation. Regular practice of meditation can improve concentration, motivation and memory - all of which will help prevent life’s various problems from becoming quite so overwhelming, thus contributing to even more overall reduction in stress. As you become more competent and confident in your meditation practice, you will be able to enter a meditative state more easily, with less preparation, and less need for a special environment to evoke a state of calm concentration.

Furthering Your Practice

If you find meditation helpful, I highly recommend looking into undertaking a more serious practice in a tradition to your liking. While Hinduism and Buddhism are most associated with meditation in the public mind, there are also Christian versions and even versions for atheists. I hope that this piece has been helpful to you in your search, and wish you many blessings on whatever path you decide to pursue. Namaste!
